A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident caused the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
